Client Testimonials

Andy Santos

LaTonya is a very engaging presenter. While I was working at Backstop Solutions, we hired LaTonya to conduct a session on how to be an amazing ally during our Pride month celebration. She was absolutely fantastic and kept the energy going in the room through exercises, sharing facts/data, Q&A, and inspirational messages

There are not enough positive ways to describe my experience with LaTonya! The career coaching she provides is more than just to help people find a new opportunity or figure out the next step in their career- the coaching she provides is absolutely life changing. She has helped me create new behaviors that have transformed how I approach my career and professional growth now and in the future- I have experienced multiple ‘a-ha’ moments while working with her and learned how to take proactive steps to tackle my goals; I learned much more than I had anticipated from her guidance – as I had approached LaTonya with the hopes of finding a new position; I quickly recognized that our time together was much more than ‘finding the next position’. It is not easy to work on your professional development when you have a full set of responsibilities in your current position and at home – she understand this; she was able to push me, keep me motivated to achieve my goals and hold me accountable all while providing a comfortable environment – not too mention the many laughs we have had; she really knows how to make career coaching a fun and enjoyable experience. When I first went into coaching, I was a bit intimidated, very nervous and quite honestly embarrassed that I was struggling to advance my career on my own- together we worked on increasing my confidence and taking structured steps to achieve my goals; shortly after a few sessions, I could not wait for my coaching to receive feedback that I knew would bring me closer and closer to my goals. LaTonya’s coaching has left me with a life long behavior change, and most importantly empowered and confident to go after what I want in my professional development. I am forever grateful for my experience with her and believe having the right career coach is something that anyone invested in their professional development would benefit from tremendously!

Global Girls contracted Latonya for a series of Board development trainings. We found her to be highly engaging, resourceful and professional. She worked with us as a coach and a skilled facilitator during workshops. As a result of her methodical and intentional planning and execution, my board is a tight knit group with clear goals, action plans and targets for taking Global Girls to the next level. They all understand their roles as board members and are now fully invested in the fiduciary and leadership responsibilities. Ms. Wilkins’ patience mixed with persistence was crucial to get members to commit time and energy to the process

Technology proves time and again the brilliant connecting tool that it is – Instagram was the platform where I was fortunate enough to find and work with LaTonya for several months before landing the right, next job for my career trajectory. This process took a lot of mental and emotional development, of which LaTonya helped guide! Having had recently graduated from Stanford and leaving a first job that did not align with my passions or values, I was in a space of deep reflection. LaTonya worked with that evolving space I found myself, constantly adjusting her fluid coaching and advising voices. She was a coach when I needed to wake-up (quite literally and figuratively), write applications, or do research. She was an expert adviser when I needed to make conscious decisions. And she was a wonderful listener when I needed to untangle my inner dialogue out loud. LaTonya does her ‘homework’ so that she is clear, concise, and direct when in session with you. I am so very grateful for the professional care and attention she offered me at a sensitive time in my life. You will be in good hands!

I have had the pleasure of working with LaTonya over the past few months. For the past several years, I have been a stay at home parent. Prior to that role, I worked in a role that wasn’t fulfilling me. So, I faced a double struggle of going back to work after a long hiatus and trying to figure out my “what’s next”. LaTonya has been a true gift. First off, she is an amazing listener. She has allowed me to talk and asks me guiding questions as I do. I don’t ever feel like she is throwing advice at me. Instead, through our talks and guiding questions, she allows me to make realizations of my own. Also, she is very thoughtful in how she tailors our conversations. Each time we speak, she has a guiding focus for our conversation. Things we have worked on in our various sessions include networking guidelines and interview skills. She is extremely experienced as a former HR professional and as a coach and I always felt like I could trust her guidance. Also, through her warmth, I was able to trust her with my feelings that come with the rejection of job searching. Through our work, I have been able to really narrow down the focus of my job search and grow my network of potential employers. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for some coaching, no matter where you are currently at in your career.

I began working with LaTonya as I was considering leaving my corporate job and starting my own business. LaTonya brings tons of practical experience and expertise in business and leadership. Working with her is like swallowing a ‘truth’ pill every few weeks. She brings me back to my intention for my business, and helps me to hone in on actionable things I can do to achieve my goals. She seamlessly balances being my biggest fan while simultaneously pushing and challenging me. She’s helped me achieve business goals I’ve never thought possible and I feel so fortunate I get to work with her

I can’t say enough great things about LaTonya! I have a nonprofit organization and LaTonya has spoken at two of my event’s, a Goal Setting Workshop and a Vision Board Workshop. Each event, we received so many compliments on the content and presentation LaTonya put together! She is such an amazing speaker and engages with the audience, so there’s never a dull moment. Personally, I aspire to be able to speak like LaTonya and she has definitely inspired me to work on my public speaking. LaTonya is a genuinely kind person and her laid back personality and positive aura make her such a joy to talk to on a personal or professional level

I met LaTonya at the UIC Business conference “Women Rising Together” on International Women’s Day. She delivered a keynote speech about “Three Steps to Your Ridiculous Rise.” LaTonya passionately encouraged us to trust ourselves and be who we are.  I was very inspired by her. LaTonya was also very kind and patient answering all my questions after the conference. Her coaching immediately made me more courageous. I definitely recommend LaTonya as a career coach or keynote speaker.

Thank you so much for partnering with IPRA for our speaker series. You took us into conversations that many people don’t know how to start. You made space to call out terms and trends that need to be improved upon and you educated the audience in a way that felt very safe. In doing so, you added so much credibility to the work we’re trying to do for our members at IPRA. We had nearly 500 people registered today and I know that the messages provided were heard, loud and clear.

Thank you for your leadership, your participation, and your voice. I greatly appreciate it. Well done today!

LaTonya was opening speaker for the ICF Midwest Regional Conference in October 2020. Her topic, Coaching People Who Are Different From You, focused on issues of DEIBI (diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, intersectionality) and in today’s world that’s a topic that can arouse deep passion and discomfort. In that context, I highly recommend her speaking services for four reasons: My first bit of applause is for how well and quickly she built a safe space for this conversation in a virtual (Zoom) mode. She had people sharing personal stuff w/in 15 minutes! Second, her content and the overall quality of the presentation were top-notch. The learning points were well-organized and clear, and in an era when we’ve had to return to slide decks a bit more, hers were clean and crisp and visually compelling. Third, her energy and enthusiasm were high from the start — an excellent Stage Presence in a virtual setting! Finally, when I compare her mastery of the Zoom room and technology in general (use of polling, chat, and interaction to keep people engaged, managing the slides, varying her delivery, etc) to the dozens and dozens of virtual presentations I’ve witnessed since the Pandemic began, I place her in the top 10%, at least. She’s badass** good! You should hire her to speak at your event — she’ll make you look good (my assessment). **http://blog.renegadecitizen.com/5-traits-that-define-a-badass-do-you-have-them
